616 gatherings shown for all typesChurch gatherings are often published across separate calendars, event pages, and social posts. People searching across a region have to know where to look before they can discover what is happening.
Fellowships turns that fragmentation into one useful public service: a location-aware calendar and map that helps people search by place, church, or the kind of gathering they want.

01 · The response
From information silos to one clear path.
The opportunity
Create a regional view without asking churches to adopt another publishing tool or asking visitors to search dozens of separate sources.
The product
A single 30-day calendar and map with location radius, plain-language search, church identity on every listing, and directions from the visitor’s current location.
02 · My role
Built end to end.
Product strategy
Defined the audience, regional rollout, discovery model, and standard for what earns a place in the directory.
Experience design
Designed the visual system, information hierarchy, calendar behavior, map parity, search, and mobile flow.
Data & automation
Structured the underlying records and directed a repeatable intake, validation, refresh, and expiration system.
Positioning & launch
Named the product, shaped its golden-hour identity, wrote the experience, and connected the service to a clear public purpose.
03 · The operating system
Automation that stays accountable.
The implementation stays private. The operating standard is simple: accuracy before volume, and useful information before novelty.
- 01VerifyListings begin with identifiable public sources and complete location details.
- 02NormalizeDates, church identity, addresses, and map coordinates are shaped into one consistent record.
- 03PublishValidated records appear in the same calendar, search results, and map view.
- 04MaintainRecurring refresh and expiration checks keep stale gatherings out of the active experience.
04 · Design decisions
Useful first. Distinctive by design.
Golden-hour identity
A hopeful sky and warm light distinguish Fellowships from a generic utility without competing with the task.
Calendar and map parity
The same verified gatherings power both views, so changing perspective never changes the answer.
Stable busy days
Fixed-height day cells preserve the calendar grid; an accessible more control reveals overflow without distortion.
A path, not a pin
Every church and event can open turn-by-turn directions from the visitor’s present location.
Outcome
A working service for churches—and proof that strategy can become a maintained product.
Fellowships promotes local congregations by making their gatherings easier to discover. It also demonstrates a repeatable approach to regional discovery: focused rollout, verified information, clear interaction design, and quiet operations behind the scenes.
